I think the data center backlash is mostly about data centers

The idea that this is all happening because people did actually just get fired up about often goofy interpretations of isolated large numbers is much more disappointing, but reality is often disappointing

"People believe incorrect things" shouldn't be surprising and yet it kinda is. I've definitely been assuming that the data center panic was driven by anger about other things because the claims about data center harms were so obviously wrong. But actually, people just believe incorrect things.

Even Facebook is +13% in approval, with just as many people very favorable to it as very unfavorable. More Americans are favorable to Facebook than NATO or the European Union

Another belief I need to revise. I thought FB was universally despised at this point.

I think the data center backlash is mostly about data centers
