used to dread the idea of "networking" and associated the word with "schmoozing."

What I've discovered: so much is about your mindset. Instead of the attitude "I want to meet someone who can give me something" try to have the approach of "What can I offer than might help someone?" or "What kindred spirits might I meet this time?"

Speaking of networking for the fun, I encourage those interested in children's literature (creating or reading) to attend @kidlitchat.bsky.socialon Bluesky every Tuesday night at 9 pm ET! Thanks to @gregpincus.bsky.social and @bonnieadamson.com for hosting.
