Fine Discernment

nonentity must have been boring

for, despite it all, I do love life.

I'm curious about everything

I really couldn't say why,

but also ask: why not?

can't everyone see the magic?

one life is all we've got

but so many people's are tragic.

suffering is inevitable

although we cause way more on top

but the kind of person who's enviable

is the kind that helps it stop.

We buy the ticket,

we ride the ride

but where do we stick it?

it hides inside.

we oft forget to appreciate being

so many wonders we're used to seeing

but I will stop and smell the roses

they don't all smell the same,

and not everyone knows it.

yeah I am here, I smell the trash too

I know which I'd rather focus on.

our choices matter,
