Building Things

I suck at it. But I know I can get better.

y personal website, in spite of how tiny and small of a project it is, by far the most fun I've had working on a project in the better part of two years, and the first actual end product I've made in that timeframe. Knowing that to be true is mildly depressing, but I think it's good nonetheless that I finally stopped putting off this task, and actually made it.

I know that I am fully capable of making things, things way bigger than a silly portfolio and blog. And, I want to make those things. But I get wrapped up in the weeds, starting from scratch is intimidating, especially as a solo endeavour. I am routinely inspired by the incredible people around me who make and create things, technical or not. And I know I can be better.

So I suppose, at minimum, this is a resolve to myself to continue making things. Not because I need to for career prospects, or for any extrinsic reasoning, but because it's fun. I think everyone should simply make things because those things are fun to make.
