his is a good way to use up some old rice. It’s fairly quick, works as a meal on its own, or doubles as a side depending on protein.

The sauce in this version is essentially just butter and kimchi juice, which all gets absorbed into the rice. I added a hotdog, but you could add in bacon or spam, or whatever else you have around. Top it off with a fried egg if you’ve got the time (or co-ordinate properly while the rice is cooking).

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Rice (day or two old)
  • 1 cup rough chopped kimchi + 2 tbsp juice
  • 2-3 green onion bottoms
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame Oil
  • 1 diced hotdog (bacon, spam, etc)
