July 2026 Spotlight of Artists on Tezos
very month, I look forward to going and searching the key phrase tezARTicle on X, followed by a tried and true experience of discovering amazing art on Tezos nominated by the community. This month was no different. There’s a particular kind of generosity in nominating someone else’s work. It costs almost nothing and asks for no credit, yet it puts an artist in front of eyes that might never have found them otherwise. Every nomination, I’m reminded that this series moves wherever the community decides. Thank you for continuing to make the series possible.
This month, four artists enter the spotlight. Abbas Rahmani, Art Anael, Arbstein, and Ceofis. Let’s take a closer look together.
Abbas Rahmani: Photographer
Abbas Rahmani is a photographer with a wide range of work available on Objkt. He has a particular love for minimal and black and white photographs, plus an eye for unique scenes that carry symbolism. In the photo titled “Peace”, we get to experience a full color and stunning frame of a white dove in mid flight with wings fully expanded. The dove is about to land on the ledge, which makes the lack of motion blur even more impressive. The patience mixed with talent it takes to capture such a well framed moment in the life of a bird so widely known as a symbol of peace is in itself worthy of a spotlight. This photograph is a 1 of 1 and at the time of writing is available on the primary market.
Photography has always had a distribution problem. The image travels everywhere and the photographer often gets lost in transit. Tezos changes the shape of that. Minting a photograph as an NFT keeps the artist’s name attached to it, and gives collectors a direct line to the person who waited and captured the worthy moment. Low fees and permissionless access mean a photographer can share an entire body of work without gambling on which frame collectors will love. Anael: Physical and Digital Painter
Anael is a digital artist whose work feels like a practice of spiritual devotion. In the artwork titled “Meditation Among Flowers”, a figure meditates within a landscape that seems to be holding its breath with them. This person has no interest in the material world, seeking a conversation with the source. A reminder that stillness can reveal truth.
Once you read the description attached to the artwork on Objkt, what looks like a quiet figure in a beautiful setting becomes a whole argument about where love comes from. Anael cites Rumi as the source of the feeling, and the work carries the same weight as Rumi’s poems do. Spotlighting this artwork and sitting with it became a personal reflection. You can likely experience the same by visiting Anael’s body of work on Objkt, here.
Arbstein: 3D Fantasy Gardens
“destellos y estrellas” by Arbstein
Arbstein is a 3D artist who creates magical fantasy gardens you can interact with and even place in metaverse worlds. With artworks minted on Tezos dating back to November 2021, there is an entire catalog to discover. Each piece arrives with a thoughtful description in the metadata that summarizes just enough to jump start your journey into the artwork’s meaning.
In “destellos y estrellas”, two jellyfish-like entities float in the center of a structure that could be a courtyard or perhaps a pavilion. As you navigate the 3D interactive artwork, the two figures delicately interact with one another. The description calls it the energetic experience of getting to know someone, and once you have that phrase you can begin to imagine the courtship happening. Something that is relatable across species of life.
Interactivity changes what an artwork asks of you. A 3D scene like this one asks you to experience it like an installation, with each angle and depth revealing more. That decision is the same one the two figures are making with each other. You circle, you approach, you find the distance that feels right. Cleofis — Digital Collage and AI Art
Cleofis is an artist who weaves stories through mixed media and AI explorations. A self proclaimed “spare time wasterer”, you can feel the time and passion that goes into each artwork he creates. With a collage-like composition style, Cleofis bends reality into surreal scenes.
In “with you”, time stands still and gravity blurs. A rich tapestry that continues to give more the more you sit with it. A staircase climbs out of a still pool with two figures climbing into the unknown. Above them, three more figures walk on the sky upside down, calmly, as if nothing is amiss. Faces grow out of the trees. The scene should not hold together, and yet it does. It is the logic of memory, where things you loved arrive out of order, at the wrong scale, and pass before you can get a clear reading on what it all means.

The Spotlight Stays Open
Every one of these features started as a single comment from someone who took a moment to point out work they admired. Nominations for the next #tezARTicle are open, and a single mention is often all it takes to put an artist in front of the community.
I keep writing these because slowing down to look closely has changed how I collect, how I create, and how I understand the ecosystem I’m part of. Each artist here is telling a story that rewards attention, and I’m grateful to the people who sent me somewhere I might not have looked on my own. I hope you get the same joy out of the series as I do. Thank you for reading, keep exploring, and keep nominating.
‘ART’icle of The Month was originally published in Tezos Commons on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
