TAKE ACTION: Renton and Redmond have city council votes on Flock cameras this week

As the pushback against Flock’s AI surveillance cameras continues to grow all around the country, there are two important city council votes here in the Puget Sound area.  If you live in Renton or Redmond — or visit either of the cities frequently, or have friends who work there — please take action

• Renton city council is likely to vote on Monday (July 20) on whether to turn their Flock cameras back on. NO!!!!!! Southend Indivisible’s Action Network page makes it easy to contact the council and tell them to keep the cameras off — and cancel the contract with Flock  Or, if you prefer, there’s also a Take Action Network page with a similar ask, along with instructions for people who aren’t Renton residents but still have connections with the city.
• Redmond city council is voting on Tuesday (July 21) on whether to cancel the Flock contract.  YES!!!!!  Here’s a Take Action Network page with a one-click link and draft email to contact the council and encourage them.
