But anyways, hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog! 🌸💕

So far, work has been kicking my butt... and so have bills. I'm really exhausted, but still trying to take time off so that I can fully enjoy my hobbies.

Time to nerd out just a litttttle...

So recently, @aka.dad and I watched the movie 300, and I honestly really loved it! Being someone who took Latin for like 4 years in high school, it was really cool seeing the different aspects of Greek and Roman culture within the movie. I think my favorite scene was when the queen was talking to the council, and the one evil gross dude (I don't remember his name 😅) was taunting her and accusing her of treason, and she stabbed him. I mean... the dude had it coming, and it made me laugh because she just threw his words back in his face.

I also really enjoyed the part when they actually used the Greek fighting style of the Phalanx, and it seemed like they portrayed it pretty well, especially when using the Othismos (or push). It scratched my nerd brain so well, and I really enjoyed watching it. At the end, with the testudo (where it looks like a giant tortoise shell from all of the shields), I got so excited seeing something I'd only ever seen in textbooks on screen.

Overall, really great movie. There are a few things I would change, like how unrealistic the blood was, and maybe include more about why Sparta was so isolated (based on the military-focused lifestyle). But, it definitely was one of my favorite movies.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

I've been trying to come up with some new projects to work on, but I feel like coming up with the ideas is the hardest part for me. I want to make cool stuff, but there's just so many ideas I don't know where to start. I think I want to create a little homesteading game? I know there's a lot out there, but it's the most fleshed out idea I've had in a minute 😅.
