I’m looking for my next job

Over the past 12 months I designed, built, and launched a dozen apps and experiences on the AT Protocol, including anisota.net, a calmer user interface for Bluesky, and Aturi, a toolkit for navigating the open ecosystem of apps built on the same protocol. Together these projects reached 100K+ unique visitors in their first year, earned me a shoutout from the stage of SXSW, landed me an appearance on CodeTV, and allowed me to present my work at Atmosphere Conference 2026. Before this, I spent a decade growing products, brands, and communities for tech companies in decentralized web, healthcare SaaS, and consumer SaaS.

Today I’m excited to share that I’m looking for my next job.

The roles I'm looking for seem to go by a bunch of names right now: design engineer, product designer, creative technologist, etc. The title isn't as important to me as the kind of work being done. Over the past year I've handled every part of the process myself: concept, design, code, launch, and everything in between. I prefer to be close to the product and the people using it. I also like to be hands-on enough that my ideas ship as working software. If you're hiring for something like that, I want to hear about it, even if what you call it isn't on that list. And if you’re interested in integrating the AT Protocol into an existing product or experience, I can help with that too.

Building new and experimental social experiences as an independent creator has been incredibly rewarding and brought me back to my roots as a creative technologist. At the same time, it has reminded me how much I love working with other people on projects that are bigger than myself. I’ve been collaborating intentionally with AI since before ChatGPT or Claude Code existed (and will continue to do so), but I’ve found myself missing collaborating with people all the more.

In 2024, I took a 6-month sabbatical after a decade of work in order to better understand what I wanted the next 10 years of my career to look like. In the time since, I’ve learned that I want to focus on the relationship between humans and technology. My career has been about this subject in one way or another for a while now, but I want my role within it to shift towards building a better future for us all.

Social media (in the broadest sense of the term) is one of the most defining and influential experiences of our lifetime. In 2020, right as the global pandemic accelerated how online we all were, I began working in the emerging decentralized web ecosystem. It had become clear to me that despite social media existing for multiple decades, the phenomenon was still very much in its infancy, the status quo wasn’t working for anyone (except for the tech monopolies), and the best was yet to come. In spite of everything, I remain incredibly hopeful.

I eventually landed at Protocol Labs and IPFS, became one of the earliest users of Bluesky, and began exploring what a more hopeful future could look like.

Last year I began building and eventually launched Anisota, an experimental user interface for Bluesky and the AT Protocol that is meant to help people be offline more and online better. Anisota is almost a year old now, it has monthly recurring revenue that pays for its costs, and (more importantly) it has given a lot of people a taste of what’s possible if we dramatically rethink how things are done.

Anisota is not going anywhere and it will continue to get better, but I’m also excited to join a team full-time and work towards a more hopeful future alongside my fellow humans (and AI agents).
