Best icon format for ATblogs

Which image format works well for ATmosphere blogs: .jxl, .avif, .webp, .png, or .jpeg?

f you are like me, a perfectionist or just cannot settle for less, you probably often spend time testing which image formats are supported by each platform. Here are the results for each Standard.site-compliant blog platforms in the ATmosphere network.

(in alphabetical order)

  • GreenGale 🍃: use a high resolution .png, it will be resized and compressed; other image formats are converted to image/png
  • Leaflet 🍀: .webp works perfectly; .png is a secondary option
  • Offprint 📖: .png is the best; .webp is not yet supported
  • Pckt 👝: you can't go wrong with .webp, of course .png is supported

If you need a tool for optimizing images while keeping the quality high, I recommend Squoosh. It's pretty simple and self-explanatory.

Squoosh

Squoosh is the ultimate image optimizer that allows you to compress and compare images with different codecs in your browser.

While it is web-based, everything happens client-side or in your browser. Once you have an optimized blog icon, upload it to your Standard.site-compliant blog!

Enjoy!
