  • I was back to work after last week's holiday. Not too many non-spam emails to read, but plenty of Slack activity to catch up on. Slack is undoubtedly king at our hybrid company.
  • One of my engineering managers is now on paternity leave for a couple of months so I'm looking after his team in his absence. It's a well-run team and I'm aiming to return the reins to its manager in a good state in June.
  • I disappeared down a nineties music and football hole on Monday with the BBC's The Birth of Cool Britannia documentary which largely focuses on early Suede, Elastica and Blur. Followed by Arsène Wenger: Invincible on Arsenal's greatest manager. I won't apologise for enjoying every second of an evening's nostalgia.
  • Three losses in a row. Let's not talk about Arsenal lately, though, OK?
  • We had a barbecue on Friday with some neighbouring families. While the adults enjoyed the Pimm's and sunshine, the children bounced on the trampoline and played Minecraft.
  • My parents visited for Easter Sunday. The boys had an egg hunt in the garden, expertly planned by L, while I cooked roast pork. It seemed to go down well. Crackling, a cider gravy and then apple pie and custard. No need for chocolate after all that.
