Sony raises PS5 Prices due to 'pressures' in global economy
The price raises will take effect starting April
LDR: Disc Edition: $649.99, up by $100 - Digital edition: $599.99, up by $100 - PS5 Pro: $899.99 up by $150 - PlayStation Portal: $249.99, up by $150.99
On Friday, Sony said it will raise the price of its flagship gaming console, the PlayStation, for the second time in less than a year due to "pressures in the global economic landscape."
Sony says the standard PS5 (with the disc drive) will now cost $649.99, up $100 from $549.99; the PS5 Digital (without the disc drive) will cost $599.99, up $100 from $499.99; and the PS5 Pro will cost $899.99, up $150 from $749.99.
Sony is increasing the price of the PlayStation Portal, going from $199.99 to $249.99, a $50 increase.
