GitStat

Displaying coding statistics from multiple different coding forge platforms.

his is a project I worked on for a short while, They idea sprung from when I moved away from Github to Forgejo and I could no longer use Github readme stats for that cool lil' coding stats box.

Ronja's GitHub Stats infographic displaying key metrics: Total Stars Earned: 2, Total Commits (2026): 42, Total PRs: 15, Total Issues: 4, Contributed to (last year): 1. Includes a circular progress bar with the letter 'C' at its center.

This is what the default Github Readme thing looks like for my Github profile in 2026 (which I do not actively use). I wanted to recreate something similar but maybe with more stats, cross-platform, private repo support, and so on. It was a lot of hard work mostly on determining what the struct should look like for different stats that could be used across different platforms easily. And how to standardize functions that was easily expandable to new platforms.

It works by someone signing up, and then adding logins to different platforms with tokens that they have given the permissions to public or private repos depending on what they want visible. The plan was to eventually offer it as a subscription for €1 / month, but I never got that far. Although there is a running instance, I am currently not working on it.

Here's my current badge, which should always be up to date when you are reading this article.
