3D Pinball had music??? – Music Monday – August 3, 2026
Did you know 3D Pinball Space Cadet had music? In this week's Music Monday, Andy talks about the one song in that and how it pulls out that nostalgia!
f you were a kid in the 90s like myself and had a PC, you likely played most if not all of the games that came pre-installed in their Windows game. Solitaire, Minesweeper, Freecell, Hearts, and a little game called 3D Pinball.
I played a TON of 3D Pinball growing up. (I actually found out that if you have the game on a folder then it’ll actually play on newer OSes) I also loved listening to the MIDI songs that were included in the Windows install. Canyon.mid and Passport.mid and others like that were just so cool! You could have the computer play songs for you!
I found the pinball.mid in the Pinball folder when I was digging through the folders of the game. It had me curious…this game has music?? Booting up the game I went through to the menu and sure enough there was a music checkbox that you could enable and disable (and it’s default set to disable).
Enjoy the Pinball music if you haven’t heard it before:
The Pinball song starts off strong with a bass line that can rattle a really big sound system. With this bass there’s also an amazing repetitive melody that just is mainly a descending lick. This isn’t a long song, but it loops really seamlessly. There are also little bits in which the MIDI file also simulates a slap bass and almost twangs up the bass. It’s amazing. I still will randomly get the bass line stuck in my head.
A classic and one of those “if you know you know” type songs. There are some amazing remixes too! Danimal Cannon does one actually that I’ll link below!
