Muyaba to leave Masters

Khuda Muyaba is set to leave Masters FC just weeks after joining the Lilongwe-based club following a fallout with head coach Peter Mponda, Malawi24 has learnt.

Malawi24 has established that the striker and the club have mutually agreed to part ways after Muyaba said he was uncomfortable working under Mponda.

Sources said Muyaba refused to play under the coach, prompting a meeting with club officials. It was resolved that any player unwilling to work with the technical panel would be free to leave after refunding their signing-on fee.

It is reported that Muyaba has agreed to return the signing-on fee he received, clearing the way for his exit.

The development comes days after the striker posted a series of cryptic Facebook messages widely seen as criticism of Mponda’s coaching ability. In one post, he suggested the coach could not coach him and questioned his credentials.

He later wrote: “The boss will decide who stays and who leaves. Ambiri akugona. I’m a freedom fighter.”

Meanwhile, Masters FC is yet to comment on the matter, while Muyaba has not publicly confirmed his departure.
