Man of God arrested over alleged abuse of daughter
A prophet is in police custody in Kasungu for allegedly abusing his 18 year old biological daughter.
olice in Kasungu have arrested a 38-year-old self-proclaimed prophet for allegedly sexually abusing his 18-year-old biological daughter.
According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer at Kasungu Police Station, Sergeant Miracle Hauli says the suspect has been identified as Collins Banda.
Hauli says, Banda allegedly began sexually abusing his 18-year-old daughter in 2024, persuading her that the act would bring him wealth while threatening her with madness if she refused or disclosed the matter.
The abuse continued for months as the victim remained in his household following his divorce from her mother.
According to police accounts, Banda later told his new wife that his “prophetic powers” resided in his daughter.
He instructed her to acquire these powers through sexual acts involving both women simultaneously, threatening similar consequences when she objected.
The abuse came to light after the family relocated to Kapawala Village as farm tenants.
The second wife, unable to endure the situation further, reported the matter to their employer, who notified Community Policing members.
Officers raided the home and discovered Banda in the act of abusing his daughter.
According to Hauli, medical examination of the victim confirmed that she had been sexually abused.
Banda remains in police custody pending court appearance on charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor.
