Miss Teen Universe Malawi Seeks K10 Million for Cambodia Trip

Miss Teen Universe Malawi 2026 Leonorah Cooke is appealing for financial support to raise K10 million to enable her to represent Malawi at the Miss Teen Universe 2026 competition in Cambodia.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi 24, the organising team said Cooke is expected to travel to Phnom Penh for the international competition, which will take place from October 19 to 26, 2026.

“The K10 million target is specifically intended to assist with two return air tickets from Blantyre to Phnom Penh one for Leonorah and one for her accompanying official or chaperone,” the team said.

According to the organisers, part of the funds will also go towards visa fees and accommodation for the chaperone.

The team said the fundraising target was based on estimated international travel costs, which can change depending on airline availability, routes and the timing of booking.

“Airfares fluctuate considerably depending on availability, routing, airlines and how close to the departure date the tickets are purchased,” the organisers explained.

Cooke will be accompanied by an official representative from the Miss Teen Universe Malawi organisation, who will support her with travel logistics, schedules, coordination with the international organisers and other responsibilities during the competition.

The organisers are appealing to individuals, companies and organisations to contribute towards the campaign, regardless of the amount.

“Every contribution matters. We welcome support of any amount because every contribution brings Leonorah closer to representing Malawi in Cambodia,” they said.

The team has also committed to transparency in managing the funds, saying contributions and major expenditures will be recorded and supporters Will be updated once the tickets have been secured.

Leonorah Cooke replaced Shakira Machakwani, the current Miss Teen Universe Malawi, as Malawi’s representative at the competition after Machakwani was unable to travel because some of the requirements for her trip, including her travel document, were not completed in time.
