ll is set for what is expected to be one of the biggest birthday celebrations of the year, taking place tomorrow at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC), hosted by Miss Khonje, popularly known as Doll Mabell.
Speaking to Malawi24 today, Khonje said preparations for the highly anticipated celebration are almost complete, urging all invited guests to attend and experience what she described as an unforgettable party.
“People should expect a good time, fun and popping champagne. It will be interesting and exciting, and I am sure everyone who attends this party will enjoy themselves and create unforgettable memories,” she said.
According to Khonje, the event will be a proper red-carpet affair, with guests required to dress in black attire and wear masks before entering the lavish celebration.
The birthday celebration, dubbed “A Love Song by Doll Mabell,” is expected to attract celebrities, prominent personalities and professionals from various sectors.
Khonje, who is based in the Netherlands, said she organises a birthday celebration every year, but decided to bring this year’s event home to Malawi so that she could celebrate the special occasion with family and friends.
The birthday celebration has a budget of approximately K120 million, with guests expected to enjoy food and drinks from 6 p.m. until late.
Khonje is well known in this country and in 2004 she finished third in Miss Malawi competition and has previously hosted the pageant.
