alawi has missed out on the Top 60 finalists of the Miss World Top Model competition.

The announcement means Malawi’s representative will not compete among the 60 finalists in the Top Model final, scheduled for August 28.

The Top Model competition features contestants from different countries showcasing their runway skills, with the finalists selected from the 111 national ambassadors taking part in Miss World.

Malawi’s absence from the Top 60 comes as a disappointment to Malawian beauty pageant fans who had hoped to see the country’s representative advance in the competition.

The Top 60 includes 15 representatives from Africa, 15 from the Americas and Caribbean, 15 from Asia and Oceania, and 15 from Europe.

Among the African countries that made the cut are Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Senegal, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Somalia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Guinea, Cameroon and Mauritius.

All 111 national ambassadors will, however, take part in a runway event on August 28, competing for the World Designer Award in their respective continental regions.
