Gospel star Meleka takes diplomatic role in Tanzania

Malawian gospel musician Evance Meleka has been appointed First Secretary at the Malawi Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Meleka, who is known for his gospel music, has released several songs, including Adzakuyiwala, Yashuta, Nthata Za Njala, Wawunami, Oyima Payekha and Sapanganika.

His appointment marks a move from the music industry into Malawi’s diplomatic service, where he will serve at the country’s embassy in Tanzania.

As First Secretary, Meleka will take on official responsibilities at the Malawi diplomatic mission and will be part of the team representing Malawi in Tanzania.

The appointment adds a new chapter to Meleka’s career, following his years in the gospel music industry.

He is now expected to begin his duties at the Malawi Embassy in Dar es Salaam as he takes on his new role in public service and diplomacy.
