Ansah calls for spiritual renewal, unity

Vice President Jane Ansah has challenged Malawians to look beyond religious labels and make faith visible through their daily conduct and service to others.

Ansah said Malawi needs spiritual renewal and greater unity if the country is to overcome its challenges and build a stronger society.

Ansah made the call on Sunday when she attended the closing ceremony of the Upper and Lower Shire Joint Mega Conference of the Zambezi Evangelical Church at Mitsidi Synod Ground in Sigelege, Blantyre.

Ansah preaches unity

She asked the church and other sectors to work together in promoting peace and national development, saying Malawi needs greater cooperation among religious leaders, traditional authorities, political leaders, civil society, businesses and government.

Ansah also urged families and the church to help mould young people by encouraging hard work, discipline, honesty, respect for the law and integrity.

She further encouraged the congregation to keep the spiritual fire burning beyond the conference and take the message of renewal into their churches, homes, workplaces and communities.
