Kabambe believes committed leadership can fix Malawi

UTM Party President Dalitso Kabambe says Malawi needs committed leadership to fix the country’s deepening economic, governance and moral challenges.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Kabambe said Malawi is going through a difficult period despite 60 years of independence and progress.

“Our country is crying out for change; not just superficial, but a profound transformation of our economy, our mindset, and our collective spirit,” he wrote.

Kabambe has blamed Malawi’s struggles on weak institutions and failed leadership.

He said poor management, corruption and too much government interference have slowed progress, while the economy is weak and roads, schools and other public services are falling apart.

Kabambe also said Malawians are failing to hold each other accountable, and instead praise those who steal public money.

According to Kabambe, Malawi needs leaders who are committed to serving citizens instead of pursuing personal political gain.

He added that the country needs leaders who put service before self-interest and integrity before corruption.
