Read Jack Walker’s report on LGBTQ+ Wikipedia editors at Them.

Jack Walker’s report from Queering Wiki in Montreal follows the people doing the less glamorous work of keeping queer history findable. Writing is only part of it: contributors also translate, upload pictures and improve metadata.

That is the useful part of this story. An archive is not finished because somebody put a rainbow on the homepage. It needs sources, maintenance and people who can notice what is missing.

The conference’s own page lists skill-sharing and stronger LGBTQ+ representation among its goals. Worth reading for the practical work behind the word visibility.
