Music: That Road
Collaboration by Diane Marie Kloba and GUITAR PK
fter 15 years building a career as a designer (in the UK), I eventually found more time to work on music again. Being a freelancer, working remotely, greatly assisted with the practical needs that music requires. I was no longer commuting back and forth, my hours for design jobs were now flexible. Another practical bonus was having more disposable income to buy better music gear. I recorded lots of guitar demos with a view to starting another band. I was also combining jingles and themes with my interactive design work for clients.
Once I got up to speed with social media, I soon connected with other musicians, in Europe and the USA. With any music I record I always envisaged other musicians. Soon enough, I was collaborating with Diane Marie Kloba, a singer/songwriter based in Chicago.
Alongside her partner Theodore as bassist we formed a kind of remote band, literally new territory for all of us. We recorded several songs together, exchanging audio files via email. The song highlight of this period was That Road, recorded in 2017.
