The Joy of Bad Movies.

'all ever wonder where the "Movie 2: Electric Boogaloo" Meme came from? It came from here: Breakin' 2.

So my brother and I had so much fun watching League of Extraordinary Gentlemen that we started getting a craving for more "Good-Bad" movies. We had both seen reviews of Breakin' 2, but neither of us had seen the film ourselves. So we went onto Tubi and watched the film. And I've gotta say, it's one of the best "Bad Movies" I've ever seen.

Our lead, Ozone (Played by Adolfo "Shabba-Doo" Quinones) helps out at his local Community Center, helping to enrich the lives of disenfranchised children by teaching them dance with the help of his friend Turbo (played by Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers). But an evil businessman, Mr. Douglas, wishes to tear down the community center and replace it with a Shopping Center, and convinces the City that the only way to save it is to pay $200,000 for repairs. So our leads Ozone, Turbo, and Kelly (played by Lucinda Dickey) need to find a way to raise the money in order to save their "second home".

All of that plot is inconsequential to the film, as it seems far more interested in including random dance scenes for seemingly no reason. There are several side-plots like Kelly being offered a leading role in a Production in Paris, Turbo having a love interest who only speaks Spanish, and Ozone beefing with the "Electric Rock" club, RadioTron. None of these have much bearing on the plot, as the plot is primarily, "Find a reason for us to have a Dance Scene in this moment". It's super story-light.

This film is honestly a spectacle for the eyes, because it just oozes "70's & 80's", in a way that I wasn't expecting. Everybody is in Crop Tops, Leather Jackets, Parachute Pants OR Latex Leggings, and with Belts out-the-ass. And at the end of the movie, they all add Vibrant Neon Colors to the mix. It's such a fascinating movie to just LOOK at.

Honestly, it's hard to talk about the movie, it's just an Experience. I wouldn't call it a "Good Movie" because it's so flawed in so many ways, but it's such an insanely fun watch that I have to recommend it. I think I'll give this a -8/10. If you're looking for an fun, unserious romp, this is definitely worth a watch.
