I just moved to a new apartment!

not doing this alone of course I'm just twenty

wo years ago, I moved to another state for university. the apartment I was living in for those two years was rented, and while the apartment itself was nice, the outside of the building was way too dilapidated for the condo fees we*1 were paying there. so earlier this year my parents and I decided to check out this brand-new building to see if buying a flat there was worth it, I went like “please can I have an apartment”, and they decided to buy it. and now I've just moved in!

very important to say that my mom helped me a lot with this “moving” thing — she's still here actually, and she's probably going home on Tuesday or Wednesday. I would not have been able to even know all the little things the apartment needs*2 (and even if I did, my sheer laziness or executive dysfunction or whatever new medical-sounding word we have for this would have my apartment more barebones than the stereotypical room on r/malelivingspace), so I'm grateful for the help. in fact multiple times I was like “mom you're doing literally everything do you want me to do these things instead” but she was like “nah Matias I'm fine don't worry” and I was like, “okay”. she had to reassure me that I didn't have to feel bad for it, even.

anyway I had a lot of editorial say on what the new flat looks like! if you know me even just a little you know how I hate that every single living space nowadays is colorless and drab and white and and and... well I just Don't Like That so my kitchen is blue.

very organized but not as #instagrammable as it could look. but look. it is Blue

here's some more pictures:

I bought the Miffy cushion today. #malelivingspace #mencanbemoetoo

here's one of the bedrooms. the apartment has two, a large one with a double bed and a smaller one with a single bed. I ended up using the smaller one as my default bedroom because of the shelves and the desk, plus I'm just one person and don't need that much more space:

just looks cute doesn't it. ignore that we haven't bought a chair for this room and I'm just using one of the living room's chairs here.

  1. I don't have a job. it's my parents who pay for these things ↩
  2. like a towel hook or the two little ottomans in the living room or the fact that there should probably be one or two pillows on the couch or or or or ↩
