bundled

flying away from the puzzle you left behind

emory like molasses

so thick and sweet

boarding a plane that’s carrying me away from me

one night ago

my intentions were clear as a bell

a chime, a sweet smell

our white roses adorned our friends

my preconceptions clutched at me

my predilections brushed by your hair

why come to me again?

why don’t i believe you when

you name what you feel

later on all bundled together

you and i and our lack of pretense

keep explanations at bay til the light hits me askance
