A sea of hydrangeas greeted me like I was a rockstar, I walked up into the house through the front door, while they lined up to the side on the ground floor! I was lucky they never asked for my autograph, If they did, at the time, it would have been just a draft. I thought I knew myself really really well, Looking back now, life kept me under a spell. At the time, I was so convinced that the habitat of happiness was outside of myself, At the time, I still bought into the theory that I could only be happy if I was loved and wanted by somebody else. When I first walked into that house, I was still with him, Such a long time ago, and so much has happened since then. If I arrived confused and lost, I usually walked away with a more positive thought. If I arrived discombobulated, I usually walked away more centered, less agitated. Over a decade, the hydrangeas have been my witnesses, That house has grown to be my home even though I’ve never lived in it.
