Testing Things Out

Just like some of you in this ATmosphere platforms like Blueksy, the term "open social web" piqued my interest on checking it out.

So I decided to dive into posts and accounts telling such.

That's how I found Leaflet (@leaflet.pub). Thru other artists and authors' posts. It's a blog + newsletter platform integrated to ATmosphere platforms such as Bluesky. You can read more about Leaflet in this link.

The reasons is, I think I'm not alone into thinking that social media platforms have became unreliable and discouraging for artists and authors. But I know I can't completely avoid it, as social media has become essential to an artist's career nowadays. But at the back of my mind, there's this urge to explore other ways to share my art. With something that has less friction as much as possible.

After sending a few question to the Leaflet team, I decided to give it a try now. As the updates to the platform keep coming, so as my interest.

I'm in the arts field. So something seamless to come up with and works well with your works, is a good thing to check out.

By the way, I'm an artist illustrator under the pseudonym Wishful Maybe. You'll find my works around social platforms and maybe soon, here as well.

My worry here tho is, if you post daily, I don't necessarily want to flood a subscriber's inbox. I have no idea yet if there will be a setting for that. I also mentioned above that I found out about this thing thru other artist and authors' posts - which in itself is a problem. You can only find their presence within the Bluesky platform. Hoping that will change in the future.

Is this a way to eventually find a home hub for my works? I don't know yet. But we'll wait and see, maybe we just need to try if it works for us.
