My 1st Mechanical Keyboard

For my first post to this blog, allow me to talk about my first mechanical keyboard.

My very first mechanical keyboard came way on Christmas day from my aunt. There was a fantastic set at Costco for a ridiculously good price. Even today, looking back, I'm a tad impressed. It came with a keyboard, wireless mouse (with charging dock), and a mousepad.

I instantly fell in love.

Not just with that set, I really should pull that mouse out because it was nice, but with mechanical keyboards in general. I started looking online for other mechanical keyboards and watching Youtube videos of them being built.

I then tried my own hand at building them myself. I got a cheap little board that always caught my eye online, also known as a DNA board. It's a 62-ish percent board. I used electric tape for the black side to make it sound less plastic-y...on an all plastic board. Ruby hand-lubed switches (that I only picked because it's my birthstone) I still adore it to this day.

So, if you're ever too anxious or worried about building a keyboard, just remember, everyone must start somewhere. Then it becomes an addiction and you now own over 50 boards...
