ne of my favorite hobbies is keyboard building, as I've posted about in the past. However, my favorite part of it isn't having the most expensive board or anything like that, it's having a cheap board and making it sound/feel expensive.
Now, the board I'm showing here today isn't exactly one of my cheapest. This is a GMK67 ($64.99) with Candy Shop PBT Keycaps ($55.99) from Kinetic Labs and Gateron Luciola Linear Switches ($67.50 for 90) also from Kinetic Labs. Not "cheap" by many standards, but those in this hobby can tell you...that's a steal.
I haven't used this keyboard for a while and just picked it back up today, it's still incredible. I'm not normally one to like 65% boards, but this one feels so nice that I can ignore my displeasure.
When building a keyboard, don't be afraid to buy yourself a tester and figure out what you like in terms of switch weight and sound. You won't regret it.
