When you hear this movie had a very profitable second life as a movie rental store and cable TV staple, it really solidifies the appeal of the film - Patrick Swayze is the best bouncer who has ever been, and he's here to clean up an old town bar, seduce a hot doctor, and rip the throat out of a rich evil businessman. That's it, that's the plot of the movie, and it’s wonderfully played completely straight. Sam Elliott also shows up as another badass bouncer (a renowned and well respected position in the movie's universe) and does a solid job, with the whole cast honestly giving pretty enjoyable performances across the board. “Road House” is a lot of fun; throw it on with a couple of friends and you're sure to have a good time. Just don't set your expectations too high - it is a dive bar after all.
