This was a solid enough meat and potatoes episode of the show - the "voodoo" was appropriately spooky, and the eventual reveal that it was actually the Warden who was behind all the curse stuff the whole time was well handled too. The episode just felt like it was missing something though; the Warden felt a little bit too goofy at the graveyard, Scully's thorn wound induced psychosis felt a bit like it belonged in a cheap horror film, and the show's eventual ambivalence to outright acceptance of "voodoo magic" felt a bit out of place for both Scully and Mulder's established skeptical natures. But ultimately an enjoyable episode, just not a classic.
