Now this was a good episode of “The X-Files:” if you were trying to pitch the show to somebody who hadn't seen it and they were like "Describe what a general episode is like" you'd probably just kind of describe this episode. There are aliens, there are conspiracies, there is misdirection, and there is a cliffhanger - it's the classic “X-Files” treatment, what more could you want? Though if we are being critical, the opening, while exciting, really doesn't connect to anything yet by the end of the episode and Part 1. And then the adoptive daughter of one of the clone doctors being Mulder's long thought lost alien abducted sister, who he and his parents seem to buy 100% as his sister/their daughter, on top of the rest of the episode's plot, felt like a bit too much. I understand her being revealed to also have been in the apartment raid with Scully and the fake CIA guy sets up the possibility for this all to be a fabrication on her part. But Mulder and his family seem to buy it’s her completely, and if it really is her, then I feel like this character's return deserves to have a little more focus than the Russian clone scientist assassins. But I'm just whinging, this was a fun episode, and I am excited for Part Two.
