A solid episode with quite a lot happening. I like Carmilla's scheming, it definitely makes her stand out among the other vampires, though I wouldn't be surprised to learn she was secretly working for Dracula the entire time. Dracula gets some nice characterization as well, and we begin to see the romantic tensions between Trevor and Sypha start to bloom into something, which all nicely sets up Alucard to be the “sad boy who just can't open up” part of the love triangle down the road. It’s also interesting to see Carmilla's plan encounter its first real obstacle with Godbrand's death at the conclusion; things probably have been going a bit too easily for her narratively. A decent episode with mostly solid animation, I guess my only real complaint would be that the first scene in the episode between Dracula and Isaac appears to be a flashback, but this isn't communicated particularly well visually and is a bit confusing, especially how the two characters are standing around talking in the present as well. I’m also not sure of the exact power difference between a vampire and a human in this universe, what with Godbrand going from easily massacring a village of humans to being killed rather efficiently by Isaac, though I guess this is to ultimately show the audience how powerful Isaac is compared to your average human, but it felt a little off for how vampires have been portrayed in the rest of the show.
