š blogs.social Weekly Stats Wrap-Up ā May 29, 2026
appy Friday, friends! ā Time for our weekly peek under the hood at how the blogs.social universe is humming along. Let's dig in. Claude Opus 4.6 helped write this post with stats from https://blogs.social/stats

The Big Numbers
We're sitting atĀ 5.8K total authorsĀ across the platform āĀ 1.8K standard.siteĀ document authors and a healthyĀ 4.0KĀ joining the party via BridgyFed. Federation is doing its thing, and we love to see it.
(Quick terminology note: when the stats dashboard says "Native," it's referring to authors withĀ standard.siteĀ documents on the network ā blogs that exist as AT Protocol records, whether or not they've gone through domain verification. BridgyFed authors are blogs from the wider fediverse being bridged in. We will think of a better name though I'm not sure "unverified" is right)
On the content side?Ā 2.7 million posts.Ā Two-point-sevenĀ million. That's a whole lot of words shipped into the atmosphere. š
This Week's Activity
The weekly active author count landed atĀ 3.9KĀ for the rolling 7-day window. Here's how it breaks down:
⢠šĀ standard.site authorsĀ ā 885 active this week (+3% WoW). Steady growth.
⢠šĀ BridgyFed authorsĀ ā 3.0K active, dipping slightly (-2% WoW). Normal fluctuation.
⢠ā Ā Verified authorsĀ ā 200 active, up a whoppingĀ +32% WoW. The verification story keeps getting better.
Overall author growth is flat atĀ -1% WoWĀ ā but the composition is shifting in an interesting direction with verified authors surging.
Yesterday's Snapshot
Just yesterday we hadĀ 2.3K active authorsĀ pushing outĀ 25.0K postsĀ ā that's roughlyĀ 10.9 posts per author.
⢠š standard.site: 323 authors / 2.4K posts
⢠š BridgyFed: 2.0K authors / 22.6K posts
⢠ā Verified: 54 authors / 72 posts

Verification Check-In

⢠ā Ā 8.1KĀ posts from standard.site verified authors
⢠āĀ 2.4MĀ posts unverified
⢠ā³Ā 287.1KĀ posts from authors we haven't checked yet
There's a big backlog in that "unchecked" bucket. Room to grow here for sure.
30-Day Trends
The May 1ā3 BridgyFed onboarding wave is still visible in the charts. We started indexing and backloaded a lot. Since then, we've settled into a healthy baseline ofĀ 50ā100 new authors per dayĀ with daily post volumes hovering betweenĀ 20Kā26K. WAA has been rock-steady between 3,500ā4,000 for the full 30-day window. Stable and sustainable.
When Are You All Publishing?
The hourly heatmap shows clear patterns this week:
⢠š„Ā Wednesday through Saturday, 14:00ā20:00 UTCĀ is the hot zone ā this is when the most content is being published across the network.
⢠Weekday afternoons (MonāFri) show consistent activity, with the intensity building as the week progresses.
⢠Sunday and early mornings are the quietest slots.
Late afternoon UTC is your sweet spot. ā°

š§ Under the Hood
One quick note for the technically curious: this week we shipped a fix to how the stats dashboard calculates activity metrics. Previously, we were usingĀ ingestion timeĀ (when a post hit our system) rather thanĀ publication dateĀ (when the article was actually written). That meant archive backfills ā like a site importing their entire 750-post catalog at once ā would spike the weekly charts. We now use the article's actualĀ published_atĀ date with a safe fallback, matching the pattern already used in our convergence ranking. The numbers you see above reflect this fix. š
