The Exsanguinator's Brigands

his was a lighter session, we were a player down, there was a lot of goofing off and having fun at the table, and I was hot so I wasn’t on my A game.

Leaving Eld’yedith upon the road the wind was fierce, it echoed through the needles of the pines.

From the south a voice boomed out “We have you surrounded, and you have two options: give us your money or die. You are dealing with Zssath the exsanguinator”

Drash quickly scanned the trees to the south “I can see four hiding in the bushes” he whispered.

Roddy piped up “You better reconsider, we have another group coming just behind us.”

All they heard in response was a laugh.

“I said your money or your life.” An arrow flew past Roddy, hitting into the side of the cart.

Amyl wasted no time, swooping up the little muranian as he yelled “And why should we be afraid of you? You can’t even shoot right”

They worked Giuseppe the mule as fast as they could, hauling them all in a cart as a barrage of arrow rained down, the first four missing their mark. A second volley was all they needed, two found their way into Mekinimini, another into Caulder. As fast as fae could Amyl cut apart some linen, making bandages and set to work removing the arrows and staunching the bleeding.

Deeper and deeper into the woods they went, until the pines gave way to broad leaves and they soon found themselves safe and alone. Their pace slowed to normal, but they were still on edge.

A distant booming could be heard in the woods, a thundering, like slow plodding footsteps. Amyl froze for a moment “A giant.”

“They are gonna grind our bones into bread” Roddy chimed.

Caulder began to hid away in the underbrush, and soon after the sound of a tree snapping echoed thought the woods, Amyl covered the cart as best as fae could and the rest began to hid.

The footsteps got closer and closer until the giant came into view, it was a giant but not a humanoid. It was a brontosaurus idly chewing at the leaves.

The party began to discuss amongst themselves what to do, with Roddy suggesting butchering it for its meat, but they soon realize it’s branded with a B inscribed inside a U. Eventually they decide to just leave the beast be, whoever lost this thing would have to find it themselves, not worth the extra trouble while nursing back Mekinimini.

Only when their legs began to fail did they find themselves at a clearing. A small wooden town lorded over by a giant manor house adorned with spires. The village of Bar Udartophir.

They found some rest at a local inn called the Vermillion Raptor and had a good meal while idly listening in to people talking of the increased raiding by Zssath and how the Electron Sovereign hasn’t been doing enough.

The following morning the group took the ailing Mekinimini to the temple in the center of town. It was a small wooden building dedicated to the sixth face of the Icosdyad, Innamorati hoping for any help. Just their luck there was Deacon Pharnoc, a young woman with many freckles praying in the temple. Roddy offered her a good meal in return for the faith healing of Mekinimini, and soon after the prayers were said and the ritual cleansing was complete Pharnoc laid her lands upon her, sacred geometries spiraled inwards towards the infantesimal, the wounds began to heal where her hands were.

As Mekinimini came too she realized she was quite smitten with the freckled woman who had just helped her.
