Ever hear the one about the Big Fish who walked into a casino?

Or, what was supposed to be an autopsy turned into a white paper

ne month ago, the Kickstarter I ran for Colonial Gothic: Revolution Edition failed. No way to say it otherwise, so let's move on.

The campaign kicked off on July 4, 2026, and when it closed on August 3, 2026, I had already processed the impending failure. Instead of getting angry, or, more importantly, upset, I went into planning mode to do better with a better plan. When many asked what happened, I said I would do an autopsy and write about it. So I dug into the numbers and wrote. As I continued writing, I did more research. Then more. And the next thing I know, I had a whitepaper.

Big Fish Eat the Whole Lake: A Whitepaper on the Tabletop Crowdfunding Market (2026)

Shorter than the research deserved, I share what I learned and compare my failed Kickstarter to others. Along the way a methodology was created, and it is leading me to do something more. Right now, however, I need a break. I blew my entire August schedule for this, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
