Rethinking what multi national Sports Holdings even are and the shift in momentum to India
o we know that all the foreign Sports Holdings like City, Atletico and Red Bull have pulled out of the Indian Soccer League but instead of viewing it under the perspective that the Indian Soccer League actually isn't financially sustainable for these foreign Sports Holdings; I'm looking at this the other way around, I think India is going to progenate it's own Sports Holdings, maybe they're not going to be multi national like the Sports Holdings that own the Indian Cricket Clubs right out of the gate but let's not forget that even those Cricket Club owners weren't multi national right away, actually; they had a precarious; rather stereotypical Indian beginning, when the Indian Cricket League was just starting out they were literally giving away tendors to anybody who could afford them without having the States pre assigned and wouldn't you know it two of the eight founding Clubs were drafted to Bollywood Actors, so there you go Bollywood
I'll tell you what though those Bollywood Actors who sprung for those Cricket Clubs will be happy that they did when they did it because those original eight Sports Holdings have bought out entire rival Leagues like the Caribbean Cricket League, the South African Cricket League and even Major League Cricket
Let's take a detour and talk about something else real quick, obviously, they had the money to buy out rival Leagues in South Asia, the only reason they didn't do it is because South Asia is heavily Balkanized which may be a blessing in disguise for the other South Asian Countries because the regional Sports Holdings had to really step up their game
Maybe they they don't make as much money but I can say without a doubt that they have suave and sophisticated Cricket Leagues and I can't really say the same for the Indian Cricket League
Let's take another detour here; it's actually not uncommon for Bollywood Actors to own Sports Teams, if you talked to any South Asian Person about Bollywood Actors owning Sports Teams they're going to be legitimately confused because they'll have no idea whether you're talking about Cricket, Soccer or something else entirely
That's not even something I'm saying out of bias or spite, the other South Asian Cricket Leagues really are some of the classiest Cricket Leagues you'll ever see
The Indian Cricket League; with absolute malice, hubris and prejudice barred it's Cricket Players from participating in other Cricket Leagues and look at where that got them, the other South Asian Countries which are objectively poorer have flat out better Cricket Leagues despite making less money than the Indian Cricket League
So cutting back to the Sports Holdings that own the Indian Soccer Leagues; let's think about the state of the world's elite Sports Leagues, you have the NFL and NBA over at the United States running uncontested as far as revenue is concerned, that's not to be taken literally because there are other Football and Basketball Leagues
They're the benchmarks of what a Sports League can possibly achieve, on the Soccer side of things it's very complicated, obviously the English Soccer System is uncontested, it's world class all the way down to their fourth division, you simply don't have that kind of infrastructure elsewhere, but I will say this the other Soccer Systems in Britain, Saxon, Latin and Slavic Europe and of course Turkey and Saudi Arabia are all excellent
I'm going to try and not go passed the top five Club Sports in the world and I understand that can be subjective, maybe I'll let the natural progression dictate my course here, then you have Cricket which is perhaps the second most contested sport in the entire world outside of Soccer, I think we can say without the shadow of a doubt that the Indian Cricket League is the best in the world all things considered but you have to admit that the other South Asian Cricket Leagues not only deliver but deliver a pristine product
I think I'm going to make some sort of an issue with the fifth spot here, like I said, which sport is or is not popular is entirely subjective, you could give that fifth spot to Baseball, you could give that fifth spot to Handball, you could give that fifth spot Field Hockey, if those are your choices you're not really going wrong with whichever you pick
All things considered only one of those Sports have an undisputed leader in Sports overall and that's Baseball and I'm specifically talking about the MLB which like the NFL and the NBA are benchmarks in what a Sports League can become but I will say this the Japanese and South Korean Baseball Leagues are also excellent
So the reality of the situation is American Sports Leagues tend to be the best in the world
With Major League Cricket not only being a thing now but also being owned by the Indian Cricket Club owners we were talking about; there are currently more than five American Major Leagues
If you're limiting yourself to just five it's the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS in that order
So the top three within that already elite hierarchy are the uncontested best in the world
Soccer is in our list of top five Sports but the English have the World's best Soccer League and entire infrastructure for that matter meanwhile Soccer is an afterthought in the United States
Also in our list of top five Sports we have Cricket which I previously mentioned is actually the second most contested sport in the world and despite that the Americans; despite having Major League Cricket now still don't have the world's best Cricket League even though their Sports Leagues tend to be the best in the world, if they actually care that is
Actually go back to that list of the top five American Sports Leagues, the top four are the uncontested best in the world, that's the American premium and prestige
Once you go beyond that historic top four that's when the Americans no longer have the edge, as we discussed the English have the world's best Soccer League and as for Cricket; also as we discussed the Indians have the world's best Cricket League
I think it really boils down to whether the average American cares or not, if they do it's going to be the best in the world, completely uncontested
So going back to our original topic that's whether the Indian Sports Holdings really have something going on, I think you can't dispute that at this point, we've established that Cricket is one of the most popular Sports in the world, we've established that the Indian Cricket League is the best in the world and we've established that the Indian Cricket Club owners are the richest in the world in that regard
I think there definitely is a turning of the tide happening right now, we've established that Indians can establish one of the world's best Sports Leagues, we're now at a point when Indian Soccer Clubs don't need foreign investment, today they're unknown, nobody has a firm idea about who these Indian Soccer Club owners are but they're on course to going on par with their Cricket Counterparts
These Holdings that own the Indian Soccer Clubs will become multi national Sports Holdings, like City, Atletico and Red Bull
When you think about multi national Sports Holdings in general you already have to think about India as it is, but soon it won't be limited to Cricket anymore
