ageRank is the first algorithm used by Google Search to rank the importance of web pages, named after web pages & Google Co-Founder Larry Page.

It works by counting the quantity and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is1. The underlying assumption is that more important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.

This is a link analysis algorithm, meaning it evaluates the relationship between links.
