N.R. Walker's Missing Pieces Trilogy

This series is made of of Pieces of You, Pieces of Me, and Pieces of Us.

I read this trilogy as individual books, but Kindle Unlimited has a single omnibus version as well. While the omnibus will clock in at over 600 pages, to be completely honest I felt that these three books should have been a single novel. Each one has a complete story, but at the same time I got to the end of each one and I was like "well what's next?". Thankfully all three books were out and I blazed through them. Simple premise, Dallas and Justin are a couple of motocross gearheads who have been dating for five years and run a motorbike garage. But this cozy little existence is shattered and it leaves Justin in the hospital. When he wakes up Dallas is just a stranger to him. This entire series is nothing but Injured MC goodness with a big old amnesia and TBI troupes. The incident takes place within the first chapter and the three books chronicle Justin's slow recovery and rebuilding of his life with Dallas. It's sweet, has big found family aspects, white knight boyfriend, homophobic parents, all good stuff if you like that kind of thing. Dual POV but initially it's mainly from Dallas' perspective but slowly Justin's POV starts to pepper the books. Walker writes fun characters. Dallas is the perfect boyfriend, sure unrealistic but the romantic in you will dream that such a partner exists. Justin is broken, adrift but something in him says Dallas can be trusted.

In the end it's three books that chronicle a recovery and that may be a bit much. So if your not sure three books in a row on the subject is your thing I'd read them one at a time and take breaks. I myself could not wait to read the next book upon finishing the previous. I give the entire series 9/10, both books 1 and 3 are the best. Nothing wrong with two but as I noted these three books really feel like one single book and 2 just felt like a bridge between the first and third acts of a larger story.

Walker is also responsible for another book I really enjoyed, Galaxies and Oceans. It was the second book in the M/M genre I read and remains easily one of my favorites.
