The Book of Revealing and the Shadow Realm

The Shadow Realm in Snezhnaya has a lot of similarities to the world in the Book of Revealing. Could they be related?

First glance similarities

Both of these worlds are full of ruins that somewhat mirror parts of the normal world. The pieces float in a purple-blue endless void. On a meta level, neither have their own map, and are treated somewhat like domains. Many aspects are reminiscent of the Abyss.

Relation to the normal world

Both areas are in some way outside of the usual flow of time. For example, the Shadow Realm was able to preserve the ruins of Hyperborea, and Aksinya survived hundreds of years trapped in there. In the Book of Revealing quest chain, the Traveler meets Canotila at several different points in time that she entered the book, even out of order. She even says once that she waited in the world for a very long time, despite none of that time being reflected in the normal world.

In the Shadow Realm, enemies include what seem to be Fatui who have lost their minds. Similarly, in the Book of Revealing, the Traveler fights what seems to be Caterpillar in his hilichurl form.

Creation

The world of the Book of Revealing hasn't always existed. It was created from the imagination and memories of humans, and what the contents of the world look like can vary. It's not clear what the process to create such a realm was.

The Shadow Realm was also a later creation, but it's said to have been created by the voyager Anacharsis, and its contents are described as having "no true form".

The Belyi Tsar also mentions memories in his notes about the Shadow Realm being created (emphasis mine):

Could the protective or shielding effect the realm exerts upon our world be merely an outgrowth, an unintended consequence of the memories The Saint left behind in the eternal void in defiance of the fate the heavens had ordained for him?

Major differences

One of the main characteristics of the Shadow Realm is that humans can't use Elemental powers there, leading to them using gun technologies. Elemental attacks are even unusable in gameplay in the area before receiving a gun.

Though both areas look a lot like the Abyss, the Shadow Realm exists between the Light Realm and the Abyss in a way that prevents the Abyss from seeping in, while Abyssal monsters appear in the Book world.

Additionally, the methods of entering the Book world are also very specific compared to the Shadow Realm: either meditating on the book or entering certain mirrors on Teyvat.

So what?

I don't have anywhere to go with it at this point, but I'm thinking that even though the Book couldn't be a part of the Shadow Realm, they could be similarly constructed spaces. There might be something to extrapolate about the workings of the Realms as well as how other areas can be constructed and maintained outside of the rules of the Heavenly Principles.
