Happy Diwali!

Diwali at our house means diyas, Bhavna’s pooja, and light winning over darkness.

oday is Diwali, the festival of lights.

Bhavna’s family celebrates it, and so we do too. This evening the house will be full of diyas. My wife will do the pooja, as she does every year. I’m not Hindu so I stay out of the ritual. I help light the diyas, help with the decorating and enjoy the glow.

I like that the festival is about light winning over darkness. You don’t need to share the faith to appreciate that, especially at the start of November, when the evenings are getting dark early.

If you celebrate, Happy Diwali. If you don’t, I hope you find a little light somewhere today.
