The 60-day Iran peace window has closed

The 60-day negotiating window created by June's interim U.S.-Iran agreement expired Monday without a permanent peace deal or an announced extension. It was supposed to end military operations, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and move the nuclear dispute toward a final agreement. None of that has happened.

Talks remain stuck over the strait, and detailed nuclear negotiations have not begun. The war is now continuing without the framework that was meant to bring it to an end.
