More cargo is getting through Hormuz again, CENTCOM says

The US military says commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has reached its highest level in six months over the past two weeks.

Centcom commander Adm Brad Cooper said the main transit lanes have been cleared of mines, while US forces have helped more than 2,000 commercial vessels through the strait and supported the passage of 1 billion barrels of crude over the past two months.

That is a meaningful easing of the disruption around the waterway, although it is still far from back to normal. Shipping monitors say traffic remains well below prewar levels.
