Hard to believe that it’s already been five weeks since my last drumming lesson. Today I went to Komagome again. The focus was on bass drum 8th-note patterns.

had fun as usual, and my teacher gave me quite a list of reference songs to practice with this summer. I decided that during peak summer heat here in Tokyo, I’ll take a break from lessons, and just go practicing a bit at my local studio. Once the heat subsides, I’d like to go to lessons more regularly again.
Here is a short sample from today’s lesson of me playing along to Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 (with some acoustic support by the teacher).
