Motomachi, located on the slopes of Mount Hakodate in southern Hokkaido, Japan, is a former residential area of foreign traders.

any western-style buildings remain in the district today. The area is also home to the “19 slopes of Motomachi”, of which Hachiman-zaka is the most famous and popular.
