Many of the women I see in the locker room at the NSU pool are very modest. They don’t want anyone, even other gals, seeing them – as we say in these parts, “nekkid.”
Sometimes they will have a friend holding a towel up while they change back into their clothes behind it. Recently, a woman wrapped a towel around herself and tucked in the corner. She was struggling to keep the towel up while she put on her undergarments. Finally, the towel fell, and she let out a little shriek and grabbed it.
I said, “I don’t think anyone’s looking at you.” She leaned in and whispered, “I’m pretty sure some of these women are lesbians and I just don’t want them looking at me.” I couldn’t help it; I said: “I have several friends who are lesbians, and they wouldn’t be looking at you. You’re not their type.” She seemed stunned – as if she thought lesbians were lining up to date her, or at least get an eye full. I know several men like this, too. They are convinced gay men would think of them as a prize. Got news: Women wouldn’t think most of them are a prize, so why would a gay man?
In case you’re wondering, I don’t give a hoot about other women in the locker room. If someone wants to look at my ancient form nekkid and risk getting sick, that’s fine with me. And besides, when the NSU pool was shut down for 2-1/2 years, I got used to unwelcome revelations at the Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center…
