here was a spam-bot that kept hitting my posts with spam. There’s actually several but I use akismet so I don’t ever see most of them. I realized I actually knew how to find it so I went looking. Followed the IP geo-info and traced it to an electric-car charger in France.

Now, I’m not gonna imply that the owner of this electric car charging lot didn’t secure their device to the best of their personal ability. I’m sure they changed every password they were ever prompted to. Unfortunately though, those are IoT devices, and — as everybody knows — the “S” in IoT stands for “Security”. I’m curious who else has been affected by this bot.

I need to keep better logs so I can actually submit abuse reports.
