I just made my first Wikipedia edit 😄

I was looking at the article for Hole in the Head disease, which is listed as Head and Lateral Line Erosion, and noticed that the “cure” section listed the removal of activated carbon as a potential cure. Activated carbon cannot and will not cause HITH/HLLE. Activated carbon can, in fact, reduce the risk of HITH/HLLE by ensuring your water is cleaner, reducing risk of potential fungal infection in scrapes and cuts fish may receive from nosing through gravel or fighting amongst their colony.

If the article had said that Activated Carbon (henceforth AC) replacement were helpful, the edit wouldn’t have been necessary. AC can of course become a breeding ground for some nasty bacteria and fungus, but should be replaced instead of removed, new AC can of course shock a system by pulling too many nutes so additional nutes need to be added to the water during an AC change, especially in a system using RODI.

I kept my edit simple, simply removing the factually incorrect information, and truncating two sentences which should have been one, into one.

Additionally, what’s with all the dead links in the citations? I had to go check the wayback machine for info.
